As the TLSW (Therapeutic Life Story Work) course comes to a close and the final assessments are being completed, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks to RS Macdonald and Family Journeys for their generous support throughout my Diploma journey.
The completion of this course has not only broadened my professional horisons but also enhanced the services we provide at Family Journeys. The skills and knowledge I have gained are already being applied to better support the families we work with, with new initiatives underway to strengthen our impact.
On a professional level, the TLSW course has profoundly deepened my understanding of the specialized support I can offer to children within the care system, including those we work with at Family Journeys. I have taken on a more focused role in supporting children entering our service, particularly in guiding them through the process of reconnecting with their parents. This role has been enriched by the insights and experience I gained from the TLSW course, allowing me to provide a higher level of care and attention to these young people.
The financial support from RS Macdonald has been instrumental in this achievement. Their funding enabled me to attend the course, receive supervision for my case study, and access essential learning tools. This support has been invaluable in equipping me to provide more comprehensive care to the children I work with, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance and support during their time with Family Journeys.
Once again, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities this Diploma has provided, and I look forward to applying these skills to better serve the families in our care.
