Embedding Children’s Rights into Practice

With huge thanks to all the participants who attended our recent ‘Embedding Children’s Rights into Practice’ event, kindly hosted by the Faculty of Law at Napier University with generous hospitality enjoyed during our day spent at the Rivers Suite (event accredited Substantive Law CPD for Advocates).

The full day event brought together opportunity for shared learning, rich discussion, and collaborative problem-solving ideas from a diverse group of professionals interested and curious about best practice through a children’s rights-based lens. Family Journeys were delighted to bring together professionals from across broad sectors including family law solicitors, children and family social work services, Scottish government, sport and the arts, Children’s Hearing Scotland, third sector charities, Promise partners, and grant funders.

Our takeaway from the event was the passion and dedication of those present to commit to positive change for Scotland’s children and young people navigating care experience, family conflict and separation, and all those experiencing adversity throughout childhood. A committed focus on achieving a resilient generation to interrupt cyclical generational trauma.

Some of the feedback received to date included:

“Thank you for last week it was very insightful and will change our firm practice going forward.”

“It was incredibly informative and inspiring! Really appreciate the time that you took to speak with us.”

“A huge thank you, rarely do we get a chance to learn from such a diverse group of professionals.”

We ended the event with an invitation to join on a journey that seeks to overcome challenge: we have all done a lot, but there is so much more to do.

If you would like to know more and would be interested in attending a repeat or similar event, please get in touch.

We look forward to hearing from you.
